Volleyball: Five Things About Ryann Cox

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Falcons' Ryann Cox will look to bounce back from an injury plagued freshman season in 2015 to make an impact for the BGSU volleyball team on the back row as a sophomore in 2016.
Injured for most of the season, Cox played in 16 matches overall on the back row as a true freshman last year. She totaled 44 digs, seven set assists and five service aces on the year. She also recorded two kills on five attacks on the season from the back row. The Oregon, Ohio native posted a perfect 1.000 serve receive percentage in nine different matches on the year.
She started her BGSU career with a season-high eight digs versus Indiana in the season opener and recorded six digs at Middle Tennessee State. Cox also tallied five digs in the win over Notre Dame and picked up four digs in the win over Cleveland State at the Blue Raider Bash. She totaled a season-high two service aces versus MTSU and also had a season-high two set assists in matches versus Indiana, at MTSU and against Notre Dame.
Here are five things you might not know about Ryann Cox:
The Falcons will have a total of 15 home matches in 2016, the most that BGSU has had in a single season since 2005. BGSU will open up the year with back-to-back weekend home tournaments in the Hampton Inn Invitational on Aug. 26-27 and the BGSU Invitational on Sept. 2-3.

- My high school and travel team were both ranked number one in the country my senior year.
- My major is Business with a minor in computer software and I plan to go to law school.
- I had hip surgery in November.
- My high school was an all-girls catholic high school.
- Coach Alex and I played for the same coach.
