Volleyball: Five Things About Jelena Sunjic

Bowling Green, Ohio – Senior outside and right side hitter Jelena Sunjic battled injuries all season long in 2015, yet still went on to earn All-MAC Honorable Mention accolades for the Falcons.
Sunjic, who was a 2014 All-MAC First Team selection and a 2013 All-MAC Freshman Team honoree, started all 29 matches last year for the Falcons and led the team with 398 kills and tallied seven double-doubles on the season. She recorded 20 kills or more on four different occasions and ranked fifth in the MAC with 3.55 kills per set on the year.
Here are five things you might not know about Jelena Sunjic:
The Falcons will have a total of 15 home matches in 2016, the most that BGSU has had in a single season since 2005. BGSU will open up the year with back-to-back weekend home tournaments in the Hampton Inn Invitational on Aug. 26-27 and the BGSU Invitational on Sept. 2-3.

- She moved from her parents when she was 14 years old to play volleyball and go to school at the Sports gymnasium high school
- If she didn't play volleyball, she would be a handball player
- If she wasn't majoring in marketing, she would have chosen to study interior design
- She loves fashion and shopping
- After college, she aspires to be a professional volleyball player
