Volleyball: Five Things About Nicole Slimko

Bowling Green, Ohio – BGSU's Nicole Slimko continued to be a go to player on the outside for the Falcons, as she posted over 320 kills for the second straight season in 2015. One of only two juniors on the BGSU roster in 2016, Slimko will be asked to help shoulder the scoring load once again for the Orange and Brown this upcoming season.
Recognized as a 2015 MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, Slimko also earned a spot on the 2015 Academic All-MAC Team. As a sophomore in 2015, she played for the Falcons in all 29 matches and in all 112 sets on the year. Slimko was second on the team with 358.0 points and with 328 kills, and ranked ninth in the MAC on the year overall with 2.93 kills per set.
Slimko totaled 48 total blocks, an average of 0.43 per set, and 53 digs overall on the season. She tallied double digit kills in 17 matches, including a season-high 26 kills in the win over Cleveland State and 20 kills in the home win over IPFW, and registered double digit points in 21 matches on the year.

The Falcons will have a total of 15 home matches in 2016, the most that BGSU has had in a single season since 2005. BGSU will open up the year with back-to-back weekend home tournaments in the Hampton Inn Invitational on Aug. 26-27 and the BGSU Invitational on Sept. 2-3.
