Bowling Green Bests Bobcats For Fourth Straight Win, Move To 2-0 In MAC Play
January 07, 2023 | Men's Basketball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program overcame a late deficit to top the Ohio Bobcats 88-79 Saturday (Jan. 7) at the Stroh Center, moving the Falcons to 2-0 within the Mid-American Conference. Bowling Green took a slim four-point lead into the half, but Ohio worked to take the lead, holding it with five minutes remaining. However, the Falcons were able to assemble an 11-0 run to move out in front 79-72 and held on for the win. With the win, BGSU has now won four straight, including two conference contests, and advance to 8-7 on the season.
Kaden Metheny paced the Orange and Brown with his third 20-point game of the season ending with 25, thanks in large part to five baskets from behind the three-point arc. Rashaun Agee was next on the stat sheet with 16 points, including six rebounds and four blocks. Sam Towns added his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, recording all 10 rebounds in the second half. The double-digit scorers rounded out with 13 from Leon Ayers III.

QUOTE FROM COACH HUGER
"Kaden [Metheny] knocked down big shots, Samari [Curtis] found him twice, one from the corner, one from the top of the key in transition. The guys did a great job knocking down shots when we needed to. Sam Towns and those guys were able to knock down their free throws, and at the end of the game Rashaun [Agee]. We had so many guys step up and play well and that's what we need. That's what we were missing early in the season and hopefully it's here to stay."
