About Strategic Communications
The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department is served by a strategic communications office staff that works diligently to promote the individual and team accomplishments of student-athletes, coaches and staff. The office members handle all sport and department communications and media relations needs, and are happy to serve the working media in any way possible. Our staff will fulfill all reasonable requests.

Credentials
Requests for working press credentials should be made to the BGSU Athletic Communications Office. Requests should be made at least one week in advance to sport contact. Late requests will be honored if space is available, but parking cannot be guaranteed for requests less than one week in advance. Scouts and non-working media will be seated if space is available, dependent on league and national rules.
Interview Requests
BGSU Strategic Communications strives to provide multiple opportunities for media to conduct interviews with student-athletes and coaches. All interview requests must be made through the BGSU strategic communications office. Often, interviews can be conducted following practices, but we also suggest making player requests during each team's weekly press conference. Please allow at least 24 hours to set up interviews with players. Arrangements can be made for telephone and in-person interviews at a time that is mutually agreeable to the reporter/broadcaster and the athlete, should there be a scheduling conflict.
Student-athlete cell phone, home, dorm room numbers and/or e-mail addresses WILL NOT be provided to any member of the media. Student-athletes will not be allowed to miss class for any interviews or media opportunities.
Releases, game notes and advisories are e-mailed to media that cover BGSU on a regular basis. Media wishing to be added to the e-mail list for a particular sport should contact the strategic communications representative responsible for that sport.
Online
Updated bios, notes, rosters, schedules, statistics, quotes, etc., will be available throughout the season for every sport on BGSUFalcons.com. Specific information not readily available on the website may be available through the strategic communications office. Please contact the sport representative with your request.
Injury Information
Bowling Green State University athletics will abide by HIPAA - a federal privacy act with regard to the release of injury information. BGSU athletes will be required to sign a waiver before their injury information is released to the media. If the athlete chooses to withhold that information, BGSU officials will be restricted to informing the media members of their playing status only.
Press Gate
For football, the press gate (Gate 4) at Doyt L. Perry Stadium is at the northwest corner of the stadium, a short walk from the media parking lot.
For basketball, the media entrance is located on the west side of the Stroh Center, a short walk from the media parking lot.
For hockey, the media entrance is located on the north side of the BGSU Ice Arena, a short walk from the media parking lot and overflow lots.
Media Field Policy
For football, a general media pass will allow you access to the field during pre-game warmups and during the final five minutes of the fourth quarter only. Field access will be limited to working photographers and television reporters. No interviews may be conducted on the field and any attempt to do so may lead to the loss of your media pass.
Photographers
For football, photo passes for newspaper photographers and television videographers are available from the BGSU Strategic Communications Office. Photo passes entitle the photographer access to the sideline, the post-game press conference room and the press box. No tripods are allowed to shoot on the field. Monopods are okay.
For basketball, no flashes or strobe units are permitted without prior clearance from the athletic communications office. Photographers should shoot from the designated areas on each baseline of the Stroh Center.
For hockey, photo passes will be issued by the BGSU Strategic Communications Office. The pass entitles the photographer access to limited rinkside areas. Persons wishing to shoot from the photographer's bench area must reserve a spot with the SID prior to face-off. A maximum of two photographers may shoot from the box each period. Depending on the number of requests, a one-period limit may be enforced per news outlet. Please note only one representative per outlet may shoot in the box during any one period (unless space is available). Photographers not using the team bench area may shoot behind the glass at the north or south ends of the rink. Please be advised -- If you are shooting in the photo box area, you are doing so at your own risk!
Radio & Television
For football, requests for permission to broadcast must be made in writing. Space will be made available for the official visiting radio station and student radio station on request. There is space in each booth for four people. Phone lines can be ordered through Vincent Briedis. Anyone wishing to televise a game from Doyt L. Perry Stadium should contact the BGSU Athletic Communications Office at least ONE MONTH prior to the game, and preferably before the start of the season. The Mid-American Conference makes final decisions on all television requests through their television partner contracts.
For basketball, requests for permission to broadcast must be made at least two weeks prior to the game.
For hockey, any radio station wishing to broadcast a game must contact the BGSU Athletic Communications Office at least two weeks in advance. The designated official station of the visiting team will be allowed to broadcast at no charge if there is a reciprocal agreement with the Falcons' official station. A maximum of two seats will be reserved for each radio station unless special permission is granted (and if space is available). For television, special arrangements must be made through the BGSU Athletic Department and a maximum of four spaces will be reserved for the broadcast crew. TV crews may shoot game highlights from the south or north ends of the press box only.
