Scouting The Bobcats
The Ohio Bobcats are coming off a series win against Kent State last weekend, taking three of four from the Golden Flashes. OU experienced good fortune at the plate, logging 40 runs over the four games. Kent State's offense was able to score as well, putting up 37 runs on the Bobcat pitching. Ohio holds a conference record of 4-2, splitting with Northern Illinois earlier this season, while being 10-7 overall.
Against Ohio All-Time
The all-time series between Bowling Green and Ohio is one of the most historic in the Falcons' record book, dating back to 1952 with a total of 177 games played between the two teams. The Bobcats hold the series advantage, being 95-81-1 when playing Bowling Green. The Orange and Brown have won the last three meetings, winning three of the four games played between the teams last year. BGSU outscored OU by a margin of 22-9 over those three games. This will mark the first trip to Steller Field for the Bobcats since 2018 when Bowling Green won two of the three weekend games.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Falcons continued play within the Mid-American Conference, facing the Ball State Cardinals in Muncie, Ind. for a four-game series. Bowling Green's offense produced 19 runs over the four games, but it wasn't enough as Ball State escaped with the sweep. Jack Krause and Kyle Gurney paced the Falcons at the plate, with both hitting home runs in each of the final two games of the series. The Orange and Brown will look to carry that offensive momentum into this weekend against the Ohio Bobcats.
