MACtion Returns to Doyt Perry Stadium
• Bowling Green State University hosts the Western Michigan Broncos on Wednesday night as the Falcons enter the final month of the regular season.
• BGSU's final four games of the regular season will be played as mid-week MACtion games.Â
• A win on Wednesday would give BGSU its most victories in a season (5) since winning the MAC in 2015 with a 10-4 record. It would also be the most league wins (4) for the Falcons since that same 2015 season when BGSU went 7-1 in MAC play.
• The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
Bowling Green vs. WMU
• Bowling Green and Western Michigan are meeting for the first time since 2019 when the Broncos hosted the Falcons in Kalamazoo. WMU is making its first trip to Doyt Perry Stadium since 2018.
• Bowling Green has lost six of its last seven games to WMU dating back to 2005. The lone win (41-27) over that span was the last time these teams met inÂ
MACtion, a Wednesday night affair in Kalamazoo in 2015.
• Wednesday is the 56th all-time meeting between Bowling Green and Western Michigan.Â
Five Top Storylines
• The Falcons have 15-different players that have recorded at least one full sack this season, which is the most in the nation.Â
• DL Karl Brooks is No. 1 in the nation in sacks with 7.5. He and OLB Demetrius Hardamon have a combined 13 sacks between them. That is the same or more than 48 other FBSÂ
programs have as a team.Â
• DL Brooks is one of two players in the nation with 25+ tackles, 12+ TFLs, 5.5+ sacks, 2+ pass breakups and at least one fumble recovery. Cincinnati's Ivan Pace Jr. is the other.
• BGSU has recovered 11 fumbles, which ranks No. 2 in the nation. The Falcons trail only Duke (15). OLB Charles Rosser is tied for the nation's lead with three fumbles recovered.
• WR Odieu Hiliare has a catch in 30-straight games, which includes his career at Alabama A&M. It is tied for the 16th-best active streak in the nation. The Alabama A&M transfer has 128 career receptions for 1,740 career receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns.
MORE: Bowling Green vs. WMU
• Since 2000, Bowling Green is 1-0 against WMU when the Falcons hold the Broncos below 300 yards of total offense and 2-2 when they hold the Broncos below 400 yards of total offense.
• Since 2000, Bowling Green is 4-3 against WMU when the Falcons accumulate 400+ yards of total offense.
• Since 2000, Bowling Green is 3-0 against WMU when the Falcons win the turnover battle. They are 0-6 when they don't. And are 1-1 when the turnovers are the same.
• In records dating back to 1990, BGSU has the fourth-most team sacks over the past 33 seasons. BGSU cracked the top-5 during that span in just eight games, while the other teams on the list all played in bowl games, with three playing for a MAC championship. The 1992, 2013 and 2015 teams won the MAC championship.
• BGSU all-time career sack leader Kevin O'Brien had 19 of those 38 team sacks in 1992.
• BGSU is one of 25 FBS programs since 2000 to have at least 32 team sacks through the first eight games of the season.Â
Bowling Green's Defense Has been Standing up the Last Two Games
• After allowing 492.3 yards per game over the first six games of the season, BGSU's defense has locked down the past games. During wins over Miami (OH) and Central Michigan, BGSU has allowed an average of 247.5 yards.
• BGSU held Miami (OH) to 189 yards of total offense. It was just the 10th time since 2000 (second time this season, vs. Cincinnati) that the RedHawks were held under 190 yards of total offense.Â
• BGSU held Miami (OH) under 200 yards of total offense, which is the third time the Falcons have done that to an opponent under Scot Loeffler. It was the first time since the 2019 Akron game. Bowling Green under Loeffler is 3-0 in those games.Â
• Bowling Green allowed Miami (OH) to just 10 first downs. BGSU is 4-0 under Scot Loeffler when the opponent has 10 or fewer first downs.
• BGSU held CMU running backs to just 20 rushing yards and 60 of the Chippewas 102 rushing yards came on a scamper by the the QB via a broken play.
Rushing Game On the Rise for the Falcons
• Bowling Green received 101 rushing yards on 18 carries by Jaison Patterson last time out at Central Michigan. It was BGSU's first 100-yard rusher since Terion Stewart at Buffalo in 2021 (Oct. 30).

Broden on the Verge of a career Receiving Mark
• WR Tyrone Broden needs 14 receiving yards to become the 40th Falcon all-time to notch 1,000 career receiving yards in program history.
• Broden currently has 986 career receiving yards. He looks to become the first Faclon to reach the plateau since current Buffalo Bills tight end Quintin Morris reached the mark in 2019.
BGSU Has Two Other 1,000-Yard Receiver
• With Broden on the verge of 1,000 career receiving yards, he would join two other Falcons that have already reached that milestone.
• WR CJ Lewis has 77 career receptions for 1,126 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
• WR Odieu Hiliare has 128 career receptions for 1,740 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
