2025Â Media Policies -- SUBJECT TO CHANGE
CREDENTIALS
Requests for working press credentials should be made through our online portal located by CLICKING HERE. Questions can be made by reaching out to Vincent Briedis (vinceb@bgsu.edu) in the BGSU Department of Strategic Communications. Requests should be made at least one week in advance. Late requests will be honored if space is available, but cannot be guaranteed. Scouts and non-working media will be seated if space is available, dependent on league and national rules.Â
WEEKLY INFORMATION
Media members can access BGSU information via the internet at BGSUFalcons.com. Weekly game notes and statistics will be updated regularly. A PDF version of releases and statistics can be e-mailed to those outlets which would prefer to receive this information on a regular basis. Please notify the BGSUÂ Strategic Communications Office (vinceb@bgsu.edu) if you would like to be put on our primary media e-mail list.
WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCES
Football coach Eddie George will hold a weekly media press conference in the Wilcox Room on the third floor of the Sebo Athletic Center. All members of the media are welcome to attend. Out-of-town media will be able to join the press conference via ZOOM and if time allows, will be able to ask questions at the end. Audio and video of each weekly press conference will be available at BGSUFalcons.com shortly after the completion of the press conference.Â
PLAYER INTERVIEWS
BGSU Strategic Communications strives to provide multiple opportunities for media to conduct interviews with student-athletes. Often, interviews can be conducted following specified open practices, but we also suggest making player requests during each team’s weekly press conference. Please allow at least 24 hours to set up interviews with players. Arrangements can be made for telephone and in-person interviews at a time that is mutually agreeable to the reporter/broadcaster and the athlete, should there be a scheduling conflict.
PARKING
A special media parking lot is located adjacent to Perry Stadium, near Cochrane (soccer) Field (Lot EE). Access to the media lot is by Stadium Drive. Admission to the media lot is restricted to people holding the correct credential acquired from the athletic communications office. All media members are asked to enter the stadium through the press gate (Gate 4) at the northwest corner of the stadium.
POST-GAME INTERVIEWS
At Home: Coach George and BGSU players will be available for post-game interviews in the Sentinel-Tribune Room located between the two locker rooms, following the normal cooling-off period. BGSU observes a closed locker room policy. The Sentinel-Tribune Room is on the east side of the stadium (opposite the press box), and can be entered through the tunnels at either the north or south end. On the Road: Coach George and requested players will be made available in a designated media room or just outside the locker room following the normal cooling-off period.Â
PRESS GATE
Media are asked to enter the stadium through gate 3 at Doyt L. Perry Stadium on the west side of the stadium. This is a short walk from the media parking lot and a short walk from the elevator to the press box. All media credentials will be distributed at gate 3.
MEDIA FIELD POLICY
A general media pass will allow you access to the field during pre-game warmups and during the final five minutes of the fourth quarter only. Field access will be limited to working photographers and television reporters. No tripods allowed on the field to shoot. Monopods are allowed. No interviews may be conducted on the field and any attempt to do so may lead to the loss of your media pass.
PHOTOGRAPHERS
Photo passes for newspaper photographers, television videographers and, under special circumstances, for free-lance photographers, are available from the BGSUÂ Strategic Communications Office by filling out our online credential request form by CLICKING HERE. Photo passes entitle the photographer to field access only, not the press box.
PRESS BOX SERVICES
In 2025, there will be limited-to-no printed materials in the press box. Statistics will not be printed between periods and postgame books will be limited. Members of the media can stay up-to-date on statistics via BGSU's live stats service. A limited number of printed flip cards will be available. The BGSU press box does have wireless internet connections for all members of the media.
RADIO AND TELEVISION
Space will be made available for the official visiting radio station and student radio station (as available). Space is limited in each booth. Complementary phone lines and ethernet connections are available in the radio booths. Anyone wishing to televise a game from Doyt L. Perry Stadium should contact the BGSUÂ Strategic Communications Office at least ONE MONTH prior to the game, and preferably before the start of the season. The Mid-American Conference makes final decisions on all television requests through their television partner contracts.
LIVE STREAMING
Live streaming of BGSU football practices or games is not permitted. The use of live streaming software/apps is prohibited while covering BGSU Football, unless prior permission is obtained from the BGSU Athletic Communications staff.
