BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team picked up an 88-67 victory on Thursday (Dec. 3) over Purdue University-Northwest. The non-conference game was played at the Stroh Center. The Falcons have now won three-straight games and will bring a 3-1 record to the start of Mid-American Conference play.
Bowling Green outscored Purdue Northwest by 18 points over the final 20 minutes to break the game open. Four Falcons scored in double figures, led by fifth-year senior Justin Turner's 19 points. Turner also added six rebounds and five assists.
Fellow senior Trey Diggs finished with 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Freshman Kaden Metheny (15 points) and junior Caleb Fields (12 points) each finished in double figures scoring for the Orange and Brown.
COACH HUGER QUOTE
"This wasn't a game where I could play other guys and things like that. I was trying to win the game. That's what it boiled down to … We have to start the game much better. We can't dig holes. I think it's just a lack of intensity … We have to be interested in the first half and then finish it in the second half."
TEAM NOTES
• Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Bowling Green has posted a record of 30-4 at the Stroh Center. That record is good enough for a conference-leading .882 winning percentage. BGSU is 55-25 at home in the Michael Huger Era. The 30 wins is more than any other MAC school over that time frame.
• The Orange and Brown moved to 96-48 at the Stroh Center all-time.

• Fifth-year senior guard Justin Turner led the Falcons with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and zero turnovers. It's the second time this season that Turner finished with five-plus assists, and one or fewer turnovers. Turner had six assists and one turnover in the win over South Carolina State on Nov. 28.
• Turner has scored 10-plus points a total of 84 times in his Bowling Green career.
• Turner has scored 1,679 points in his career over 98 games. He ranks seventh all-time in scoring at BGSU, needing just 260 points to break the record. Turner's scoring average of 17.1 is tied for ninth all-time with Clinton Venable (1990-91).
• Freshman guard Kaden Metheny set career highs in points (15), field goals made (5-of-7), three-pointers made (4-of-6) and rebounds (3). Metheny tied a career high with three assists. Metheny also totaled three assists in the season opener at No. 25 Michigan.
• Senior forward Trey Diggs had 14 points and tied his career high with seven rebounds. Prior to tonight, Diggs' lone seven-rebound game came against Dartmouth on Nov. 30, 2019. Diggs, who went 4-for-8 from downtown, has made multiple three-pointers in 3-of-4 games in 2020-21.
• Junior guard Caleb Fields finished with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Fields has scored 10-plus points in 3-of-4 games in 2020-21. Fields had 12 double-figure scoring games over 62 career appearances heading into this season.
• Senior forward Daeqwon Plowden registered eight points and five rebounds. Junior Jacob Washington also had eight points, but tacked on an additional rebound to finish with six. Washington's eight and six are both career highs.
• Redshirt-sophomore center Dylan Swingle added four points, four rebounds and a career-high three steals. Cam Young (2 points), Davin Zeigler (2 points) and Josiah Fulcher (4 points) also entered the scoring column for the Falcons.
