Falcons Cruise Past Crusaders, 13-3

Bradenton, Florida - Bowling Green (5-1) never trailed against Valparaiso in winning its fifth-straight game of the season, 13-3, over the Crusaders on Monday morning. The two teams played in Bradenton, Florida, where the Falcons are on their Spring Break trip.
The Falcons scored a run in the first and third innings, before opening the game up with five runs in the fifth frame. BGSU would add another in the sixth and two in the seventh for a 10-0 lead before Valpo plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. BGSU answered that with its final three runs of the game in the top of the eighth inning.
The Falcons ended with 19 hits to Valpo's three in the game. Junior Nolan Reimold (3-for-4, 3 RBIs) and senior Andy Hudak (3-for-4, 2 RBIs) paced the hitting attack. Tyler Wasserman, Jeff Warnock, Josh Stewart and Jay Threet each had two hits apiece. Warnock scored a game-high three runs. In all, 11 different Falcons collected a base hit.
Two of Reimold's hits went for extra bases, including a double and a triple.
On the mound, sophomore Alan Brech pitched three innings on a pitch count and picked up the win. He allowed just one hit and no runs with four strikeouts and one walk. Six other Falcons saw time on the mound.
BGSU will have Tuesday off before playing Georgetown on Wednesday, March 9, at 3 p.m. in Bradenton, Florida.
