COMO – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team spent its last full day (Aug. 17) of the Cultural Immersion Tour of Italy in Como. The team ascended the surrounding Alps in the morning in order to take in some breathtaking views, before ending the day with a victory on the basketball court over the United Arab Emirates National Team by a score of 114-74. The Falcons finished with a record of 3-1 during the tour, and will travel back to Bowling Green tomorrow.
In total, the program spent time in Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and Como, and visited some of the biggest landmarks in Italy. In Rome, trips to the Colosseum, the Vatican and Trevi Fountain were some of the highlights. While in Florence, being able to see El Duomo was a once-in-a-lifetime type experience.
In Venice, the program was on an island with no cars, surrounded by canals and the famous gondolas. Como offered spectacular views with the Swiss Alps surrounding the city. While traveling to new destinations, the team didn't waste a single second, as stops were made to Milan – the clothing capital of the world – and the Ferrari Museum.
