COMO – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team traveled from Venice to Como today (Aug. 16), and stopped for a few hours in Milan along the way. The Falcons will spend tomorrow on Lake Como, before ending the Cultural Immersion Tour of Italy on Aug. 18 with a full day of travel back to Bowling Green.
Each day, a member of the program will break down the team's adventures, and recap the day. Today, athletic trainer Rob Whitehurst talked about the trip as a whole, and his favorite parts of the journey.
"Overall, it has been a great tour. Each day and each place we have visited has had its own unique experience. Whether it be the walking tours, or just the leisure time that we have to explore. The walking tours have been great in giving us insight into the history and background into everything that we are seeing.
"I also think we've made pretty good use of our time that we've been given to explore by ourselves. Yesterday, a group of us split off and really dove deep into the streets of Venice, and it was a great experience – probably my favorite thing we've done so far. That and the Vatican were great. Overall, we are having a great time, and I look forward to visiting Como a little bit, and finishing off the trip on a high note."
