Head coach Fred Chmiel and his staff return a total of four players, including one starter, from last season's roster. The Falcons went 17-14 overall last season, finishing with a 9-9 record in Mid-American Conference play.
Junior Lauren Gerken headlines the returning players. Gerken played in all 31 games a year ago, starting 17, and finished third on the team in both scoring (9.7 ppg) and rebounding (4.5 rpg). She knocked down a total of 53 three-point field goals, and led the team with 52 blocked shots (1.68 per game).
Seniors Joniyah Bland-Fitzpatrick and Jaedyn Cook and sophomore Ky'Aira Miller also return from the 2025-26 squad. Bland-Fitzpatrick averaged 4.5 points per game, and like Gerken, played in every game last winter. Cook scored 4.0 points per game and finished fourth on the team in blocks, while Miller played in 30 contests, starting five, and had 3.0 points per outing.
The 13-player roster includes a total of nine newcomers, with a junior and eight freshmen joining the Falcons. Junior Eugenia Ngungo (Luanda, Angola) comes to BGSU from Clarendon (Texas) College, while the eight frosh include Sophie Alexander (Melbourne, Australia), Sara Caetano (Luanda, Angola), Sol Depetris (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Mafalda Monteiro (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal), Mar Segura (Malaga, Spain), Carol Silva (Gondomar, Portugal), Kayla Stidham (New Palestine, Ind.) and Aurelie Vanderstraeten (Antwerp, Belgium),
Following the ODU game, the Falcons will prepare for the regular-season opener against Georgia Southern on Monday, Nov. 2. That game, part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, is the first of four consecutive home contests to begin the regular-season slate.
