High-Scoring Offenses To Clash At Stroh As Falcons Host Broncos Saturday

BGSU Hosting Annual Bill Frack Game, Alumni Day
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will return home to the Stroh Center on Saturday (Jan. 20) to host the Western Michigan Broncos. The game will mark the annual Bill Frack Game for BGSU as well as Alumni Day. The matchup will feature two of the top teams in the MAC, including the top two offenses during conference play.
Opening Tip
The Falcons and Broncos will be meeting for the 127th time in program history with BGSU leading the all-time series 75-51. Bowling Green enters having won 11 of their last 12 and six straight at home. The matchup will feature two of the top four teams in the MAC with BGSU and WMU entering tied for third in the conference, both at 4-1. Bowling Green and Western Michigan also enter with the top two offenses during MAC play and the only teams in the conference averaging 80+ against MAC opponents (WMU, 81.4; BGSU, 80.6).
At The Game
Saturday's game will mark the annual Bill Frack Game for Bowling Green with BGSU recognizing Bill Frack and his contributions to the program before and during the game. The Falcons will also be welcoming back alumni for this year's Alumni Day with a halftime recognition, including the 15-year anniversary of the 2008-09 MAC Championship team.Â

Scouting The Broncos
Western Michigan enters as the highest scoring team in the MAC during conference play, averaging 81.4 points per game. WMU has scored at least 80 points in four of their five MAC games, topping Miami (OH) (83-74), Buffalo (82-77), Northern Illinois (95-90, OT) and Ohio (81-79) before falling to Akron (77-66). The loss to the Zips ended a five-game winning streak for the Broncos. Western Michigan is paced by sophomore Seth Hubbard's 16.3 points per game. They also have had redshirt sophomore Javonte Brown return to the lineup, averaging 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Agee Continues Strong StretchÂ
In each of the last nine games, and 11 of the last 12, Rashaun Agee has led BGSU in either points, rebounds or assists. During the 12-game span, Agee has led BGSU in rebounds nine times, points twice and assists twice. During that time, he's averaging 13.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Agee has also recorded six double-doubles over the last 12 games, pushing him into the Top 50 in the nation for double-doubles. He has finished three games with nine rebounds as well and has 10+ points in nine straight games.Â
Hill On Record Book PaceÂ
Through the first 17 games of the season, Marcus Hill has totaled 344 points for the Falcons, averaging 20.2 per game. At his current pace and with 31 games on the regular season schedule, Hill is on target to score 627 points this season. If he can maintain his average, Hill would finish the year with the fifth-most points scored by a Falcon in a single-season. The last Falcon to enter the Top 10 for points in a single-season was Justin Turner in 2018-19 with 619 points, currently sixth all-time.
Turning Defense Into OffenseÂ
Over the season as a whole, the Falcons have posted one of the best defenses in the MAC. BGSU has held opponents to a mark of 42.7% from the field, first in the MAC, as well as 69.2 points per game, second in the MAC. However, in the conference play the focus has shifted to offense. Through five MAC games, the Falcons have the second-highest scoring offense in the conference, averaging 80.6 points per game.Â
Home Court AdvantageÂ
This season, the Falcons are 8-1 at home, including having won six straight at the Stroh. At home, BGSU is averaging 80.3 points per game as opposed to a 71.0 mark on the road. Additionally, at home the Falcons average 39.4 rebounds per game while that mark drops to 36.9 on the road.
