Falcons Host Huskies For First Home Conference Series of Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (2-6-0, 1-3-0 CCHA) open the month of November with the first home conference series of the season, hosting the Michigan Tech Huskies (4-2-1, 0-1-1 CCHA). The first game will be played on Friday, Nov. 4, then game two will be on Saturday, Nov. 5. Puck drop for both nights is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET.

Tickets for Friday's game can be purchased HERE. Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased HERE. Parking in the lots surrounding the Slater Family Ice Arena is limited and will be first come, first serve. Cash will be accepted. Overflow parking is located at the Perry Field House lot. Friday's game is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. Saturday's game will be a Neon Night, with fans receiving glow stick bracelets.

Opponent Outlook
The Michigan Tech Huskies will travel to Slater Family Ice Arena, bringing a 4-2-1 record and receiving nine votes in the latest USCHO poll. The Huskies have the nation's top penalty kill unit, allowing just one goal in 23 opportunities. They also lead the CCHA in scoring defense (1.57 goals per game), as well as scoring margin (+1.57). Senior goaltender Blake Pietila leads the CCHA and is ranked seventh nationally in save percentage (.944) and goals against average (1.51). Last weekend, he collected two shutouts against St. Lawrence. He earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week twice and was named CCHA Goaltender of the Month on November 2.

The all-time series between the Falcons and Huskies is knotted at 20-20-5, with the teams splitting their only two games last season. This marks the first time BGSU has hosted MTU since January 29-30, 2021. The Falcons swept the series, winning 6-3 and 5-2. Alex Barber had two goals and an assist in the second game, while Taylor Schneider registered an assist each night. Zack Rose made 15 saves and earned the win on the second night of the series.

On Friday, Nov. 4, Falcon Club members and season ticket holders are invited to a Chalk Talk with assistant coach Stavros Paskaris. The talk will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Slater Family Ice Arena Center Ice Lounge.

- Sophomore Austen Swankler has a team-best two power play goals on the year, ranking fourth in the CCHA. He leads the team with five goals this season, tied for third in the conference and 12th in the country.
- Assistant captains Max Coyle, Evan Dougherty, and Anton Malmstrom each tallied their first assist of the season. Coyle had two assists in the Saturday game, his first career multi-point game. Also notching their first assists were senior forwards Nathan Burke and Adam Pitters. Pitters scored a goal on Friday, which was also his first of the season.
- Quinn Emerson became the first Falcon freshman to net a goal this season on Saturday. It was a shorthanded goal that marked his first collegiate point. Emerson and Taylor Schneider have each scored a shorthanded score this season, making Bowling Green one of ten teams in the country with multiple shorthanded tallies.
- Taylor Schneider (154) and Alex Barber (149) rank first and second, respectively, in games played among active players. Barber is fourth among active players in power play goals (18) and game-winning goals (9). By scoring his 37th career goal on Saturday, Chase Gresock moved into tenth place among active players.
