Falcons Battle Buckeyes In Front Of Sellout Crowd In Slater
December 17, 2021 | Ice Hockey
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (8-7-3, 6-5-1-0) were defeated, 3-2, by the No. 17 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-6-0, 6-4-0) in front of a sold-out Slater Family Ice Arena. The Falcons and Buckeyes traded four power play goals to start, but a third period, even-strength goal by OSU gave them the lead. After he was called for delay of game, Ohio State goaltender Jakub Dobes saved Taylor Schneider's penalty shot with less than 20 seconds remaining in regulation, sealing the game for the Buckeyes.

Falcon Facts
On the series: "Whether you were in Columbus last night, or here tonight, you were entertained. It was good hockey, it wasn't bad hockey. You saw kids really playing hard and selling out, and the effort on both sides was really good. The goaltending was really good, you saw some high-end skill plays on power plays. Other than the result, what do we have to be frustrated with? Unfortunately, this is a results-based deal."
On the Slater sellout: "I hope the people that came really enjoyed the experience, because there are bigger buildings, and there are newer buildings, but Slater Ice Arena is as good a college rink as there is in the country. It is an electric arena and the crowd was awesome."
