CCHA Announces Pre-Season Awards and Rankings

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its pre-season rankings and awards as voted on separately by both the CCHA coaches and each CCHA teams' media members. The BGSU ice hockey team was tabbed 5th in the coaches pre-season rankings, and 3rd in the media pre-season rankings.

Pre-Season Player Awards
Along with pre-season rankings, the CCHA also announced the coaches' pre-season player awards. Freshman forward Dominik Rymon was tabbed as Co-Rookie of the Year along with St. Thomas' Nathan Pilling. Rymon joins the Falcons after playing for three years with the WHL's Everett Silvertips, where he posted 66 goals and 92 assists in 140 games.
Lastly, junior forward Brody Waters earned pre-season All-CCHA in this year's media voting. Waters was BGSU's top scorer in 2024-25, as he netted 16 goals in 36 games.
Preparations for the 2025-26 season are underway, as the team prepares for its first matchup of the season. The Falcons will host Robert Morris University in an exhibition on Oct. 4th, with puck drop slated for 6:07 pm at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
