Falcons Fight To Tie With Wildcats, Earn CCHA Point

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (7-4-3, 5-4-1-0) fought to a 3-3 tie with the Northern Michigan Wildcats (8-6-1, 6-5-1-1) on Saturday (Nov. 27) night. The Falcons' first two goals were scored within a minute of each other, then T.J. Lloyd's game-tying goal came only 34 seconds after NMU regained the lead. Neither team scored in overtime, but the Wildcats won the shootout to earn the extra CCHA point.

Bowling Green will have a week off before returning home for a series against CCHA opponent Ferris State. The Falcons and Bulldogs face off on Dec. 10-11 in Slater Family Ice Arena, with puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m. on both nights.

Scoring Plays
- The Wildcats struck first after a scoreless first period, with Mack Byers sneaking a shot through the legs of Christian Stoever. The lone assist was credited to Bo Hanson.
- The Falcons answered just over a minute later, with Sam Craggs knocking in a loose puck the even the score. Alex Barber earned the assist.
- Less than a minute later, Spencer Schneider gave the Falcons the lead with his first collegiate goal. Ethan Scardina fed Ryan O'Hara on a breakaway look, then Schneider flicked in the deflection. Scardina and O'Hara were credited with the assists.
- Â NMU evened the score during a 4-on-4 session late in the second. AJ Vanderbeck scored the goal, with assists going to Trevor Cosgrove and Hank Crone.
- Shortly after the Falcons killed a penalty, Northern Michigan scored to take the lead with 7:34 remaining in the third period. Andre Ghantous scored on a nifty feed from Joe Nardi, with Nardi and Cosgrove earning the assists.
- Just 34 seconds later, T.J. Lloyd weaved from right to left and wristed in a shot for his first goal of the season. Alex Barber was credited with the assist.

- Spencer Schneider's goal was his first collegiate point. It was assisted by Ethan Scardina and Ryan O'Hara, marking O'Hara's first collegiate point. Scardina's assist was his fourth of the season, giving the sophomore five points in the last four games.
- T.J. Lloyd scored his first goal of the season and fourth goal of his career. The junior has seven points this season and 32 points in his career.
- Sam Craggs scored his third goal of the season, extending his career goal total to 24. The assistant captain has 56 career points.
- Alex Barber tallied two assists, giving him nine this season. The captain has 44 assists and 73 points in his Bowling Green career, both team-highs. This was his fifth multi-point effort and second multi-assist performance of the year.
- Barber has notched multiple points in the last three games and multiple assists in both games this weekend. He leads the Falcons with six career multi-assist games and 16 career multi-point performances.
- Christian Stoever made a career-best 31 saves while playing a career-high
- The shootout was the first of the season in the CCHA. Nathan Burke scored the first shootout goal of his career.
