Scoring Plays
- The first goal of the game came off the stick of Justin Michaelian to give Ferris State the early lead. He was assisted by Coale Norris and Lucas Finner.
- During a Ferris State power play the Falcons were able to knot up the score thanks to a Taylor Schneider short-handed goal. He was assisted by Alex Barber on the score.Â
- Later in the first period Bowling Green claimed the lead with a goal from Gavin Gould on a delayed penalty that gave the Falcons an extra man. Brandon Kruse and Anton Malmstrom tallied assists on the goal.Â
- The Bulldogs tied it up in the second period with a score from Jacob Dirks, seeing assists from Sam Skinner and Dallas Tulik.Â
- In the third period Cameron Wright was able to capitalize on a two-on-one breakaway to score his third goal of the series and first of the night to take the lead. Kruse was again on the assist, his second of the game.Â
- With time winding down Ferris State opted to pull their goalie for an extra skater. Less than 15 seconds after the move, Evan Dougherty placed the puck in the net for an empty-net score, being assisted by Gould and Connor Ford.Â
Falcon Stat Facts
- With the win, the Falcons have now accumulated 12 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season, setting a new program record. The record was previously held by the 1978-79 squad that won 11 straight.Â
- The win also moves Bowling Green to 11-1 on the season, now holding sole possession of the third best start in program history. The Falcons will need just one more win to tie the 1975-76 season for the second best start, a year when they began 12-1.Â
- The Orange and Brown outscored their opponent in the third period once again, continuing a streak of 16 game in which the Falcons have done so, going back to last year.Â
- Assisting on the last goal of the game for the Falcons, Connor Ford reached 100 career points, becoming the 75th player in program history to do so. He joins Max Johnson as Falcons to hit the mark this season as well as Brandon Kruse for players on the active roster to have achieved the milestone.Â
- Scoring the game-winning goal for the second consecutive night, Cameron Wright now has three game-winning goals this season for Bowling Green and nine over his collegiate career.Â
- The short-handed goal from Taylor Schneider marked his first career short-handed goal. It was also the first 4-on-5 short-handed goal for the Falcons this season, previously having two 4-on-6 short-handed scores.Â
- Assisting on two scores, Brandon Kruse logged career points 122 and 123 to pass Alec Rauhauser for 52nd in program history for career points. The assists were also Kruse's 90th and 91st career assists, needing just nine more to achieve 100 career assists in the Orange and Brown.Â
- With the two assists, Kruse tallied his 31st multiple-point effort of his career and 18th multiple-assist game while with the Falcons.Â
- Kruse was joined by Gavin Gould as well in the multiple-point outing as Gould tallied both a goal and an assist, his second multiple-point game of the year.
- Finding the back of the net on the delayed penalty, Gould also scored the team's first delayed penalty goal of the year.Â
- With another empty-net goal, the Falcons now have three on the season with two of them belonging to Evan Dougherty. Â
Ty's Take
- "We're really proud of how our guys played this weekend. Both nights we did a great job of closing it out in the third period and finishing out the game. Ultimately it was huge to get our first WCHA sweep of the season. Like last night, we had really strong goaltending, this time from Zack Rose. A lot of different guys were able to contribute and it was also really cool to see Connor Ford get his 100th career point with an assist on the final goal of the game. We're just really happy with how we started the WCHA portion of the season."
