BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The No. 16 Bowling Green State University hockey team beat No. 5 Notre Dame 5-2 on Saturday (Nov. 30) night inside Slater Family Ice Arena. After defeating the Fighting Irish by the same score a night ago at Notre Dame, the Orange and Brown have now swept Notre Dame by a combined score of 10-4 on the weekend. With the win, Bowling Green is now 10-5 on the season. Eric Dop made 25 saves on the night and has now given up two or less goals in eight of the last nine games. In total eight different Falcons recorded at least one point with Frederic Letourneau leading the way with two points including a power play goal which was his second in as many nights. Cameron Wright also added to his goal total on the season, also coming on a power play, and now has reached the double digit mark in goals with ten. Bowling Green will pick up WCHA play next weekend with a two-game home series vs. Alabama Huntsville on December 6 and 7 with the puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m. for both nights.

Scoring Plays

Less than 90 seconds into the game Mike O'Leary scored a power play goal for the Fighting Irish that was assisted by Cam Morrison and Nick Leivermann.
Frederic Letourneau kicked off the scoring for BG nailing a power play goal at the 14:03 mark, coming off a rebound that knocked the leg of Taylor Schneider behind the net. Schneider earned an assist on the goal as well.
Adam Pitters gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead on his first collegiate goal at the 17:13 mark.
Trevor Janicke evened it at two after a one-on-one breakaway resulted in the second goal for the Fighting Irish. Nick Leivermann and Tony Dello had the assists.
Bowling Green's power play unit found another goal thanks to the stick of Cameron Wright who scored his tenth goal of the season. Frederic Letourneau and Taylor Schneider each had an assist.
At the 1:57 mark in the second period Sam Craggs took the puck down the left side of the ice and fired a slap shot that got past the ND goaltender. Alec Rauhauser picked up the assist which is his 101st point after reaching the century mark last night.
Brandon Kruse knocked in a goal for BG to make it 5-2 at the 16:13 mark. Carson Musser tallied the assist.

Falcon Stat Facts

Frederic Letourneau has now scored back-to-back power play goals for the Falcons after notching one last night in the win at Notre Dame.
Adam Pitters scored his first collegiate goal and third point on the season for the second BG score.
Cameron Wright stayed hot for the Falcons reaching the double digit total in goals with ten. Wright has now scored at least one point in five of the last six games and is the first Falcon to reach the double digit mark in goals.
Sam Craggs scored his second goal of the season and picked up his second point in as many games after picking up an assist yesterday.
Alec Rauhauser picked up the assist on the Craggs goal which is his 101st point after reaching the century mark last night.
Brandon Kruse ended the scoring column for the Falcons, scoring his second goal in as many games, and now has two on the campaign. Kruse now has 12 points on the season and has scored at least one point in five of the last six games.
The Bowling Green power play unit had two goals a night ago and followed that up with another two goal performance. Frederic Letourneau and Cameron Wright each had the power play goals.
As mentioned above, Eric Dop has been steady recently for BG. Dop had 25 saves on the night for 52 total on the weekend. He has given up two or less goals in eight of the last nine games.
The Orange and Brown had 46 shots tonight which is a season high. On the opposing end Notre Dame had 56 shots which is the season-high for any BG opponent.

BG will pick back up with WCHA play next weekend with a two-game series against Alabama Huntsville on December 6 and 7. Both games have a 7:07 p.m. puck drop.
