NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team concluded its season on Sunday (April 22) by competing in the final round of the 2018 MAC Championships. The Falcons shot a 322 on the day as a team to finish in 10th place at the event.
Bowling Green finished the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 964. The Falcons turned in rounds of 328 (Round 1), 314 (Round 2) and 322 (Round 3). Kent State won its 20th-consecutive team title by shooting an 853. Toledo (910) and Northern Illinois (923) rounded out the top three.
For the second-straight day, the Falcons were led by Erin Fahey, who carded a 77 to finish the tournament tied for 18th with a 54-hole total of 234. Nichole Cox posted a 78 on Sunday, which marked her lowest round of the weekend. Cox finished the tournament tied for 30th after recording consecutive rounds in the 70's.
Jessica Madry also finished tied for 30th. Madry and Cox each finished the tournament with totals of 241. Bowling Green's lineup was topped off by Sammi Blackburn (248) and Madelynn Swank (84).

"We are deeply disappointed with our finish this week. It was not a reflection of our overall season strides. The level of talent is great in this conference, and the margin for error is so small. We had too many big numbers throughout the week, which cost us. The team will take the lessons learned with them into the offseason, and with hard work, continue to work on our goals."
