Joseph Green

Joseph Green was an outstanding athlete at Toledo Scott High School in football, wrestling, and baseball. Green came to BG and earned freshman numerals as a cornerback and defensive back. He moved into the starting lineup in 1967 at middle guard, and was named to the second team All-MAC. In the next two seasons, he was recognized with first team All-MAC honors in 1968 and 1969. He completed an outstanding career in 1969 as co-captain. Green garnered All-America mentions throughout his career.
In his stellar 1969 season, Green was also named as MAC Lineman of the Year.Â
Green was signed by the New York Giants as a free agent, and made the team as a defensive back, while also playing on special teams. He played three seasons with the Giants, before playing with Houston of the WFT in 1974.
Joseph Green was elected to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1975.
