Steve Messenger was named Assistant Athletics Director for Operations, Events and Championships in July of 2014 after serving in progressive roles in BGSU Athletics during his time at the University. In July of 2020, Messenger was named Associate Athletics Director for Operations, Events and Championships.

Prior to being named an Assistant Athletics Director, Messenger was the Operations and Events Coordinator for BGSU Athletics for three years. Before that, he served in various positions, including a graduate assistant in the BGSU Ice Arena and as a student operations assistant to the athletics department. He was also an intern in the athletics department at Bowling Green High School.

Messenger earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2008 and a master’s degree in sport administration in 2011.
