Rob Whitehurst, a two-time graduate of Bowling Green State University, enters his 10th year as the athletic trainer with the Falcon men’s basketball program in 2023-24. Whitehurst, who was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2020, has worked with numerous teams while at BGSU, including men's golf and baseball.

Whitehurst works directly with team physicians, nutritionists, sport psychologists, and strength & conditioning staff to treat all needs of his assigned student-athletes. He is also directly responsibility for post-operative rehabilitation protocols.

Whitehurst is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association. He holds his Ohio Athletic Training Licensure. Whitehurst has previous experience as a Staff Athletic Trainer at Fisher Titus Medical Center and as a Gatorade Summer Camp Manager.

A native of Norwalk, Ohio, Whitehurst earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training/Clinical Management in 2011 and his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology in May of 2014.
