Jordan Barchus enters his second season at BGSU in 2026 after joining the Falcons ahead of the 2025 season. Barchus arrived in Bowling Green after spending the last three seasons at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, including the last two as the Associate Head Coach.
During his first season with the Falcons in 2025, Barchus and the Falcons put together another historic campaign. As a team, BGSU broke the program record for strikeouts in a season for the second straight year with 431 while also setting the record of innings pitched with 480.1 as well as fielding putouts with 1,441. The team also recorded an 11-game winning streak, tied for the third-longest in program history. Bowling Green tallied 33 wins over the course of the season, the first time with back-to-back 30-win seasons for the team since 2001-02. At the season conclusion, both Garrett Wright and Connar Penrod were named All-MAC First Team while Wright took home the MAC Defensive Player of the Year honor. In total, Wright broke three program records while Penrod broke one, being saves in a season with 12.
With the Penguins, Barchus began as an assistant coach before being promoted to Associate Head Coach. In his role he worked with infielders, hitters and pitchers. In addition to his time with Clark College, Barchus was an assistant coach, including the third base coach, for the Portland Pickles in the West Coast League during the summers of 2020-24. With the Pickles, Barchus worked with infielders and hitters, aiding the team to a Summer League Championship in 2024.
Barchus began his coaching career with the University of San Francisco, holding the role of Director of Operations and Camps for two seasons from 2019-21. Prior to coaching, Barchus played for two years at San Francisco from 2018-19 after transferring from Lower Columbia College (Wash.). He became a two-way player for the Dons as a senior in 2019, appearing in 16 games on the field and 11 on the mound. He also appeared in 10 games with one start as an infielder during his first season in 2018.
A native of Keizer, Oregon, Barchus graduated from USF in 2019 with a degree in psychology and received a master of business administration from Grand Canyon University.Â
