Bradley Moves Up To Ninth For Single-Season And Career Sack Totals
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bowling Green won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Buffalo elected to receive and will defend the north end.
- The Bowling Green defense started strong, forcing a three-and-out on Buffalo's first drive. On BGSU's first drive, Austyn Dendy started with a five-yard carry and a four-yard reception to Nakai Amachree bringing the Falcons a yard short of a first down.Â
- Buffalo tallied the first points of the game, scoring a touchdown at the nine-minute mark of the first quarter for a 1-0 lead.
- The Falcons found their answer on the next drive. Bowling Green started the drive with seven straight rushing plays totaling 34 yards. From there, a mix of run and pass plays moved the Falcons downfield. A five-yard rush by Brennan Ridley on an end around pushed Bowling Green into scoring position. Jay Kastantin capped off the 13-play drive with an 18-yard completion to Isaiah Dawson to tie the game.
- On their next drive, Bowling Green added another score. A 17-yard pass to Eli Jacon-Duffy moved the Falcons to near midfield. Kastantin stayed hot, later connecting with Trey Johnson for a 40-yard pass down the sideline, the longest reception of Johnson's career. After a review, it was overturned to a touchdown with Johnson passing the pylon for his first BGSU touchdown and a 14-7 BGSU lead.
- Buffalo managed to add a touchdown before halftime to tie the game, 14-14.
- The Falcons were moving the ball downfield to start the second half, but a tipped ball at the line of scrimmage resulted in a jump ball snagged by Buffalo to change possession.
- Myles Bradley soon got the ball back for the Falcons with a strip sack that was recovered by Eriq George and returned to the Buffalo 30 to start the next BGSU drive.Â
- Just four plays later, Kastantin hit Amachree on a wheel route to the end zone for a 13-yard score to reclaim the lead, 21-14.Â
- Buffalo answered on their next drive to knot the score back up, this time at 21-21. The Bulls later added a 31-yard field goal, doinking in off the upright, to move in front 24-21 within the first 10 seconds of the fourth quarter. Another touchdown pushed the Buffalo lead to 31-21 with just over 12 minutes remaining.Â
- After a missed field goal by Buffalo, the Falcons began driving. A 23-yard reception by Jacon-Duffy followed by a 21-yard pass to Leo Kemp moved BGSU down into the red zone. The drive ended with a 26-yard field goal by Travis Kenner to close the gap to 31-24 with 3:33 left, but the score held for the final.
