Falcons Successful Across All Groups in Cincinnati, Neal Outstanding in Austin

BGSU places 12 in top 5 at Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, Neal finishes 10th twice at Texas Relays
CINCINNATI – The Bowling Green Falcons competed in the second day of the Oliver Nikoloff Invite on Saturday, April 1. BGSU had success in multiple groups, totaling 12 top-five finishes. The 4x400 relay team of Darian Braddix, DaMya Barker, Bianca Staples, and Jemeila Hunter placed first. Barker, Alexis Parchman, Hunter, and Braddix were second in the 4x100, with the 4x400 quartet of Ashley Kisor, Jenna Lucas, Alexsia Davis, and Raegan Burkey finishing second as well. Barker (3rd, 100 hurdles) and Hunter (4th, 100) also had strong days in their individual events.
The jumps group had an especially successful day, with the Orange and Brown taking the top three spots in the triple jump. Staples, Brianna Richard, and Sabrina Imes swept the event, with Staples joining Richard in the program's top ten. In the long jump, freshman Morgan Patterson placed second. The throws and distance groups also had high finishes, with Reagan Emberton taking second in the discus, Regina Rose finishing fourth in the 5K and Kirstin Groppe placing fifth in the 3K steeplechase.
Zaresha Neal competed at the Texas Relays, finishing 10th in the discus and shot put. Her discus mark was 179-1.00 (54.58m), the second-best in program history and less than 1.00m short of her school record.

- Zaresha Neal's discus mark of 179-1.00 (54.58m) is the second-best in program history, trailing her record of 181-6.00 (55.34). The senior now holds five of the top six, seven of the top 10, 11 of the top 15, and 13 of the top 20 discus marks in school history.
- Neal's shot put mark of 53-0.00 (16.15m) is 17th in school history, with the only better marks being recorded by herself and Aliyah Gustafson.
- Bianca Staples made her outdoor debut and won the triple jump with a mark of 39-1.75 (11.93m). This ranks her sixth in program history, joining Brianna Richard in the school's top ten.
- Richard was the triple jump runner-up, reaching a wind-aided mark of 38-5.00 (11.71m). This is the fifth-best mark of her career, including wind-aided attempts.
- Rounding out the triple jump was Sabrina Imes, who placed third in her collegiate debut with a mark of 38-2.75 (11.65m). This ranks her 11th in program history.
- The Falcons competed in relays for the first time in the outdoor season, winning one and finishing second in two. The 4x400 team of Darian Braddix, DaMya Barker, Bianca Staples, and Jemeila Hunter won in 4:07.04, followed by the quartet of Ashley Kisor, Jenna Lucas, Alexsia Davis, and Raegan Burkey at 4:10.62. The 4x100 team of DaMya Barker, Alexis Parchman, Jemeila Hunter, and Darian Braddix took second in 47.31.
- Reagan Emberton was the runner-up in the discus with a mark of 146-0.00 (44.50m), the second-best of her career. She also threw a season-best 41-9.50 (12.74m) in the shot put, placing seventh.
- Kami Baker had a career-best mark of 116-4.00 (35.45m) in the discus, her second time competing in the event. She also threw the shot put for the first time in her outdoor career, logging a mark of 39-10.75 (12.16m).
- DaMya Barker made her collegiate debut in the 100 hurdles, placing third in 14.79. She also ran the 100, running a wind-aided time of 12.42 to finish 11th.
- Jemeila Hunter (4th, 11.97) and Darian Braddix (9th, 12.28) both made their season debuts, competing in the 100.
- Morgan Patterson (7th, 25.92) and Alexsia Davis (9th, 26.18) ran the 200 for the first time in the outdoor careers, with Davis making her outdoor collegiate debut. Alexis Parchman (6th, 25.90) ran the event as well, her first time competing in it this season.
- Destiny Fernandes (8th, 15.55) and Jenna Lucas (15th, 16.27) competed in their first running event of the season, the 100 hurdles. This was the first outdoor running event of Lucas' career.
- Kristin Groppe competed for the first time this outdoor season, placing fifth in the 3K Steeplechase with a time of 11:50.86.
- Morgan Patterson and Sabrina Imes competed in the outdoor long jump for the first time, with Patterson placing second with a wind-aided mark of 18-6.00 (5.64m).
- Izzy Best made her outdoor collegiate debut, running the 800 in 2:22.22 and the 1500 in 4:56.92.
- Also making her first career outdoor appearance was Lane Anderson, who threw 94-8.00 (28.85m) in the discus and 40-1.50 (12.23m) in the shot put.
- Grace Bradtmueller competed for the first time in her outdoor career, recording a mark of 39-1.00 (11.91m) in the shot put.
- A pair of freshmen distance runners made their outdoor debuts as well, with Kylee Cubbison (4th, 17:06.27) and Regina Rose (11th, 17:47.74) both competing in the 5K.
- Elise Johnson made her 2023 season debut in the 5K, racing in 18:19.40.
