North, Gdovin Pace Falcons During First Day Of Play At Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas – The Bowling Green State University men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Border Olympics on Monday (Feb. 14). At the end of the first day of play, the Falcons collected a team score of 595 (+19) to place them 10th going into the final round on Tuesday (Feb. 15). Individually, Tom North led the way for the Falcons with a team-high 24 pars on the day, tied for the 10th-most across the field.

Connor Gdovin provided a boost in the form of birdies for BGSU, recording eight on the day. Gdovin was one of just 16 players to have eight or more birdies during the first day of play. Ian Mackenzie-Olson saw positive results on par fives, being -4 on those holes. That included logging one of 14 eagles over the course of the first two rounds, scoring a three on hole nine, a par five, during the second round. Mackenzie-Olson was one of four players to eagle the hole Monday.
