Sunday, May 2 vs. Miami, 12:00 pm | @BGSUSoftball
The Falcons continue a 12-game homestand with six games at Meserve Field this week. The Falcons face Toledo in a Wednesday doubleheader before hosting league-leading Miami for a four-game set this weekend. The Falcons went 2-3 in five close games last week, beginning the week with a 5-3, nine-inning victory at UT. Nikki Sorgi's double in the ninth drove in a pair of runs to give BG the lead for good, and Payton Gottshall picked up the complete-game victory in the circle. In fact, Gottshall started -- and finished -- four of the Falcons' five games, including a Sunday DH vs. Kent State where she threw 254 pitches and did not give up an earned run in 14 innings of work. The second game of that twinbill saw her record her seventh shutout of the season, the highest total by a BG pitcher in 15 years. Despite missing nearly a month of the season due to injury, Gottshall has 211 strikeouts this year, the second-highest total in BGSU history. Greta L'Esperance continued her torrid pace at the plate, hitting .500 in the Kent State series, while Marlie McNulty had the first three hits of her BGSU career in Friday's DH vs. the Flashes. In case you were not award, this season's massive 40-game MAC schedule sees BGSU slated to play each of the other 10 MAC teams four times each. The Falcons' remaining games include this week's games vs. UT and MU and a road trip to Northern Illinois (May 7-9). The Falcons will play two midweek doubleheaders each vs. Western Michigan (home on May 4, away on May 12), and BG and UT will look to complete the second game of last week's scheduled DH, which was halted in the fourth inning due to weather and deteriorating field conditions.

The Bowling Green men's golf program concludes its season this weekend at the 2021 Mid-American Conference Championships. Hofland's round-two 65 was Bowling Green's low round for the event. Ian Mackenzie-Olson and Brandon Rattray each finished T-8, respectively. Mackenzie-Olson's round-three 68 was BGSU's second-best round. Rattray, who was making his Bowling Green debut at the event, was very consistent throughout, posting rounds of 71-69-70. Dylan Fitchet and Tom North nearly broke into the 60's, as well. The pair of Falcons each carded a season-low 70. Fitchet opened the tournament with a 70, while North's tournament was highlighted by a 70 in round two.
