Four-Point Night From Norris Helps Falcons Defeat Lakers

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (6-3-2, 4-3-0) defeated Lake Superior State (7-7-0, 3-4-0) by a score of 5-1 in a Friday night battle in Slater Family Ice Arena. After a scoreless first period, Bowling Green scored twice in the second and three times in the third to earn a decisive win over the Lakers.

Scoring Plays
- Coale Norris started the scoring for the Falcons in the second period. The senior slapped in a shot after Nathan Burke circled the back of the net and fed Norris on the left side. Burke and Ben Wozney were credited with the assists.
- Anton Malmstrom netted the Falcons' next goal, firing home a shot from the right circle. The score came during a 4-on-4 period with a minute remaining in the second. This was Malmstrom's first goal of the season and it was assisted by Norris and Ethan Scardina.
- The Lakers found their way on the board in the third, with Jacob Bengtsson scoring a goal with a 5-on-3 advantage. Harrison Roy and Brandon Puricelli had the assists for LSSU.
- The Falcons responded 90 seconds later with another Norris goal. Ethan Scardina intercepted a Laker pass and swung the puck to Norris, who had a one-on-one opportunity. His first shot was blocked by the LSSU goaltender, but Norris knocked in the rebound for his fifth goal of the year.
- Nathan Burke extended the BGSU lead with his goal from the right side, his seventh of the season. Austen Swankler and Norris earned the assists.
- Ethan Scardina closed the scoring for the Orange and Brown, skating through a pair of defenders and slotting his fourth goal of the year. Gabriel Chicoine was credited with the only assist.

- Coale Norris tallied two goals and two assists for a career-best four points. This was his second multi-point game of the season and the first time he notched multiple assists and multiple points. His total of four points is a single-game high for any Falcon this season.
- Norris has ten points this season and 73 points in his collegiate career.
- Ethan Scardina added a three-point night with a goal and two assists. This is the first multi-point performance of the sophomore's career, giving him seven points this season and 12 points in his career.
- Nathan Burke's goal was his seventh of the season, a team-best. He also added an assist for his third multi-point game of the year. The senior has ten points this season and 38 points in his collegiate career.
- Anton Malmstrom's goal was his first of the season and second of his career. The defenseman has two points this year and five career points.
- Ben Wozney tallied the second assist of his collegiate career.
- Gabriel Chicoine and Austen Swankler each logged their ninth assist of the season, the highest number of the team. Chicoine has tallied an assist in the last four games, while Swankler has scored at least one point in all 11 games this season. Swankler leads the team with 14 points.
- Zack Rose spent the entire game in goal and made 24 saves.
