
Walny Sets PR, Gustafson Wins Twice Saturday

Kent, Ohio – Bowling Green redshirt senior Rachel Walny posted the second-fastest 3000 time in school history, while redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson swept the throws events at the Doug Raymond Invitational Saturday. Walny competed at the Spire Institute Division I Classic.

THE 3000
- Rachel Walny set her own personal best in the 3000 by almost a second, running 9:42.95 at the SPIRE Institute Division I Classic. It is the second-fastest time in school history in the event.
- Walny's previous best was 9:43.93 and she now owns four of the nine fastest times in school history. Sara Collas holds the school record of 9:39.95, set in 1986.
- At Kent State's Doug Raymond Invitational, sophomore Allie Zofkie set a new personal best with a time of 10:46.62.
GUSTAFSON SWEEPS THROWS AGAIN
- Redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson took first place in both the weight throw and the shot put for the second consecutive week.
- She won the weight throw with a distance of 63-feet-11.5 (19.49m) and the shot put at 54-1 (16.48m). Her distance in shot put tied for the 10th best mark in program history.
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
- Kaila Butler placed third in the weight throw with a season-best effort of 62-feet-1 (18.92m).
- Katelyn King set a new personal best in weight throw at 46-2 (14.07m).
- In the high jump, Stacey Wolverton recorded a season-best clearance of 5-4.25 (1.63m).
- Savannah Nevels posted a season-best time of 25.10 in the 200, while Iyanna Ross recorded a personal best 25.29.
- In the 400, Brianna Tidmore recorded a new personal best time of 58.09 seconds.
- Jessi Lindstrom ran a season-best 5:10.83 in the mile, as did Megan Aalberts at 5:18.88. In the same event, Allison Holahan had a personal best 5:13.46.
- Ryen Draper posted a pair of top 10 finishes, doing so in both the 200 (24.95) and the 400 (57.54).

- Bowling Green will close the regular season by competing in the Zips Invitational Friday at Akron.
