Comella and Radeva Earn Wins in Battle of I-75

MAUMEE, Ohio – In the road Battle of I-75, the Bowling Green tennis was able to earn a pair of points with wins by juniors Paula Comella and Polina Radeva, although the Falcons (11-7, 3-2 MAC) dropped a 5-2 decision to Mid-American Conference rival Toledo (12-5, 2-2 MAC) on Friday afternoon.

- Now posting a team-leading record of 14-3 on the season, junior Paula Comella improved her record on the season with a straight set victory of 6-2, 6-4 scores at No. 1 singles.
- Junior Polina Radeva battled for her victory as she earned an opening set victory of 6-3. After falling in the second set 3-6, the Varna, Bulgaria native quickly rebounded for a 6-4 win and match win against her opponent.
- Radeva earned her 10th win of the 2018 campaign and now holds a record of 10-7 on the season.

- "We started slow in doubles and that pretty much cost us the match. We knew it was going to be a hard battle playing Toledo on their home courts, and couldn't afford the slow start. We are excited to bring it back home on Sunday."
Up Next
- The Bowling Green tennis program will next conclude its home slate on Sunday, April 8 as it hosts Eastern Michigan. The indoor play is set for 5 p.m. at the Perrysburg Tennis Center for the final home event of the season.
