Falcons Earn Three More Victories On Day Two Of Toledo Invitational
May 05, 2017 | Women's Track and Field
Toledo, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University battled rain and wind to earn three event victories at the Toledo Invitational Friday. The conclusion of the meet brings BGSU's regular season to a close as the Falcons will take part in the three-day MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning Thursday at Western Michigan University.
Raven Porter won the long jump at 18-feet-3, her longest jump of the season. She also placed second in the high jump at 5-3.
Running the 100 for the first time in her collegiate career, Chasatea Brown placed first in 12.21 seconds. She was also a team-best third in the 200 at 25.24 seconds. It was also the first time she had run the 200. Prior to Friday, Brown had competed only in hurdle races and relays.
Bowling Green's other victory came in the 400 hurdles as Paige Geatz ran the event in 69.50 seconds. Brianna Tidmore was second in the 400 and BeJai Fray placed third in the 100 hurdles.
BGSU will now turn its attention towards the MAC Championships. The Falcons earned 10 automatic qualifying marks for the league championship and will look to improve on last year's sixth place finish.
