Falcons Lose Twice At Ohio State Tournament

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green volleyball team opened the Ohio State Sports Imports Classic Friday by pushing Cleveland State but came up on the short end of a five-set loss 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-10. The Falcons then lost to Ohio State in three sets to conclude the opening day of the event 25-19, 25-20, 25-13.

Shari Luther had a career high 17 kills in the Falcons loss to Cleveland State and Lauren Mizgalski added a career high six blocks. Bowling Green battled back after losing the first set to tie the match with a second set win and then sent the match to a fifth set by fighting back from another deficit by winning the fourth set.
Luther had just one attack error and hit .421 in the match to lead the Falcons. Corey Domek added 15 kills and Kaitlin Jackson had 12. Setter Allison Kearney had a career high 54 assists and added nine digs. Alex Zlabis led the team with 18 digs.
In the second match, Ohio State was extremely efficient, hitting .414 in the first set and .350 for the match. Luther again led the team with six kills, adding four blocks and a .364 attack percentage.
Bowling Green falls to 7-5 on the season and will complete the tournament by facing Xavier Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
