Falcons Roll Past Howard To Remain Undefeated

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Bowling Green volleyball team took just 61 minutes to dispose of Howard Saturday, defeating the Bison 25-12, 25-12, 25-15 on day two of the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational. The Falcons improved to 3-0 for the first time in eight years with the victory.
Howard struggled to find much offensive rhythm throughout the match, finishing with an attack percentage of just .012. The Bison opened the match by hitting -.040 in the first set, improved to just .000 in the second set and finished at .071 in the deciding frame. Bowling Green, on the other hand, hit .333 or better in two of the three sets.
The Falcons served up 11 aces in the match, five from Emily Kauth, as Bowling Green dominated just about every statistical category. The Orange and Brown had 23 more kills, 11 more digs, and 1.0 more team block.
Senior Corey Domek was the only player on either team to finish in double figures in kills, posting 10. Shari Luther added seven and a .538 attack percentage. Allison Kearney had 21 assists in the first two sets and Sam Fish added eight in the third. Alex Zlabis had a match-high 11 digs, her second consecutive double-figure dig match.
In the final match of the tournament, Bowling Green will face Duquesne tonight at 7 p.m. The two teams are both 3-0 on the weekend heading into the final match.
