STOP THE STREAK
The Battle of I-75 dates back to 1919 and has been a cherished rivalry game between the two schools ever since. Perhaps one of the best qualities of a rivalry is its competitiveness, and this one is no exception. Through 81 meetings, Bowling Green holds a slim 39-38-4 record. Toledo, though, has remained determined to change that in recent years. They have won seven games in a row dating back to 2010 – the longest win streak for the Rockets in the history of the rivalry. Toledo has won 16 of the last 22 games between the two.

A RECAP OF 2016
Last year's edition of the Battle of I-75 took the style of an offensive shootout. Bowling Green's James Morgan and Toledo's Logan Woodside – both of whom are returning this season – threw for a combined 657 yards and nine touchdowns. Oddly enough, the game was decided by one of the two rushing touchdowns. The Rockets' Kareem Hunt reached pay dirt with 18 seconds left to win the game. Falcon junior Scott Miller racked up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns.Â
Â
BACK IN BG
Despite recent struggles with the Rockets, the Falcons still hold a solid 22-14 record against their rivals when playing at home. From 1955-65, the host Falcons won six straight against the Rockets. Bowling Green looks to snap Toledo's streak by adding on to their dominant home record.
Â
MISSING THE MAC
Despite success against Bowling Green, Toledo seems to continually fall short of a Mid-American Conference title. Every year for the past six years, the Rockets have finished in the top 70 nationally per S&P+. Twice, the team finished ranked in the top-25. And still they have been without a MAC title since 2004. The main culprit? Northern Illinois. The Huskies had beaten the Rockets to win the division for six straight years going into 2016. When Toledo did finally beat NIU last season, a dominant Western Michigan squad dismantled Toledo to snag the division for themselves.
Â
WONDROUS WOODSIDE
As the nation's returning touchdown passer, Rocket quarterback Logan Woodside has a lot of buzz surrounding him – and for good reason. Woodside finished 2016 with an absurd 4,129 yards and 45 touchdowns. He threw for more than 300 yards in seven games and had at least three touchdowns in every game except for the bowl loss to Appalachian State during which he only recorded two. Regardless, Toledo's all-time leader in passing efficiency enters 2017 already being named to the watch lists for the Heisman, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, and Manning trophies. Containing one of the most talented play-callers in college football is of utmost necessity if BG wants to topple Toledo.
