The '17-18 league schedule includes two Saturdays in which both the BGSU men's and women's basketball teams will be at home. Those weekend MAC doubleheader dates at the Stroh Center include one in January (Jan. 20) and one in February (Feb. 3).
As in recent years, BGSU will play two games against each of the other MAC East Division foes -- Akron, Buffalo, Kent State, Miami and Ohio -- and the Falcons will meet two West Division opponents two times apiece. In 2017-18, for the second-straight season, those cross-divisional schools are Ball State and Western Michigan, as the Orange and Brown will face both the Cardinals and the Broncos at home and away. BG plays single games vs. Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo.
The conference schedule begins with a late December road game, as the Falcons head to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan on Saturday, Dec. 30. BG starts the conference schedule in December for the second time in as many years, but just the second time since the 1998-99 campaign.
The Falcons then come home for a pair of games, facing Eastern Michigan (Jan. 3) and Ball State (Jan. 6) at the Stroh Center. The BSU contest is the first of three Saturday home dates in January.
After road games at Central Michigan (Jan. 10) and Akron (Jan. 13), BGSU is back home to meet Kent State (Jan. 17) and Ohio (Jan. 20). The Falcons' second game against Ball State takes place in Muncie (Jan. 24), before the Brown and Orange will face arch-rival Toledo inside the Stroh Center on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The month of January ends with a trip to KSU (Jan. 31), wrapping up the Falcons' dates with the Golden Flashes. Then, the Orange and Brown will begin the month of February by hosting Miami (Feb. 3) and Western Michigan (Feb. 7).
The Falcons conclude the regular-season schedule with four road games (all on Saturdays) in the last six games. BGSU heads to Northern Illinois (Feb. 10) and Ohio (Feb. 17) on back-to-back weekends, before returning home for the first of two meetings with Buffalo in the span of just a week and a half. The initial UB battle will take place on Wed., Feb. 21, at the Stroh.
BG then heads to Oxford to face Miami (Feb. 24), before wrapping up the home schedule against Akron (Feb. 28). The regular season concludes with a trip to Buffalo for a March 3 matchup, with the MAC Tournament beginning just two days later.
The MAC schedule comes after a non-conference slate that sees the Falcons play five games at the Stroh, while also making trips to five different states. The non-league schedule was announced in late July.
BGSU welcomes back nine players from the 2016-17 team, and Roos and her staff have added five talented newcomers to the Falcon fold. Season tickets for the 2017-18 campaign are on sale now.
