BGSU Signee Jake Wilson Selected in MLB Draft

Ontario native chosen by Boston in 39th Round
Bowling Green State University baseball signee Jake Wilson has been selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. Wilson, a native of New Lowell, Ontario, was chosen by the Boston Red Sox in the 39th round.
Wilson, a 6-0, 175-pound outfielder, was a four-year letterwinner at Nottawasaga Pines Secondary, playing for coach Trevor Neal. A captain on the baseball team his junior and senior seasons, he also lettered in hockey and football, captaining both of those clubs as well. Wilson led the Timber Wolves to a conference championship in baseball during the 2012-13 season, and was ranked the No. 1 outfielder in his class according to the Ontario PBR. He was named his school's Junior and Senior Athlete of the Year.
Wilson, the son of Brent and Kathy Wilson, has played travel ball for the Great Lake Canadians, the same team that current Falcon Mat Szabo has played for. Wilson's older brother, Zac, plays collegiate baseball for Davenport University.
