BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball program, under the guidance of Danny Schmitz, who will be entering his 26th season as head coach in the spring, announced on Tuesday (Dec. 15) the addition of five student-athletes.
Alex Brinkman, Damon Egnor, Colton Flaherty, Chandler Stillings and Jake Wilson will join the BGSU baseball program in the fall as freshmen. Brinkman, Egnor and Stillings are natives of Ohio, while Wilson hails from Canada and Flaherty is from Michigan. Information on the five incoming student-athletes can be found below.
"We are extremely proud and extremely excited to have Alex, Damon, Colton, Chandler and Jake join our Falcon baseball family. We feel this is another outstanding recruiting class, which will address our needs for the 2017 season," said Schmitz. "Adding three solid arms working off the mound, and getting two right-handed pitchers and one left-handed pitcher, will help give us balance on our pitching staff. Adding an exciting outfielder, who can go get the ball and swing from the left side will help us offensively and defensively. Also, adding a catcher that can control the running game will be a huge boost for us defensively."
