Now Is The Time To Submit Photos For Commemorative Ice Arena Fan Poster
December 15, 2016 | Ice Hockey
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the BGSU Ice Arena, the Bowling Green Athletic Department is encouraging fans to submit photos to be included on a commemorative fan poster to be distributed at the weekend's events, held Feb. 10-12, 2017.
All photos related to the Ice Arena are welcomed to be submitted, including Bowling Green Falcon hockey and Bowling Green High School hockey, as well as figure skating and curling events. The photos can be of fans, players, or events held at the Ice Arena, to capture the energy of the various activities to which the Ice Arena has served as home for the last 50 years.
Photos can be emailed to FanPhotos@bgsu.edu now through Jan. 2, 2017.
The weekend-long event celebrating 50 years of the Ice Arena will culminate on Feb. 11, 2017 to honor the 50th anniversary of the arena's grand opening on Feb. 25, 1967. The Bowling Green Falcon Hockey team will host Mercyhurst on that date, in what will be the team's final non-conference game of the 2016-17 season.
In addition to the BGSU action, the 50th Celebration will also feature a Bowling Green high school hockey game, special events for figure skating and curling, and host reception dinners for alumni in attendance.
