Kevin Kilmer
- Title:
- Co-Offensive Coordinator (Wide Receivers)
- Email:
Kevin Kilmer begins his third season on the staff of head coach Mike Jinks in 2018 as the Co-Offensive Coordinator. He works with the Falcons’ wide receivers.
Â
In Kilmer’s second season at BGSU in 2017, the Falcons put two wide receivers on the all-conference teams with Teo Redding being named to the second team and Scott Miller earning third team honors. Redding became one of the biggest deep threats in the MAC, while Miller earned his second all-conference nod in two years under Kilmer. BGSU also began developing youth at the position as true freshmen Matt Wilcox and Quintin Morris were reliable targets. Along with running back Andrew Clair, three of the team’s top eight receivers were true freshmen.
Â
In Kilmer’s first season with the Falcons, he helped develop Miller into one of the most dangerous and dynamic receivers in the conference. Miller was a first team all-conference player and ranked in the top 25 in the country with 10 touchdown receptions. He came up just shy of a 1,000-yard season, finishing with 74 catches for 968 yards.
Kilmer spent 2015 at Texas Tech as the offensive quality control coach, after previously serving as an offensive graduate assistant for the Red Raiders.
Â
Kilmer, who graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in history in 2011 and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2015, had been at TTU since 2007. He began his coaching career as a student assistant under Mike Leach, who is currently the head coach at Washington State. He has also worked for Tommy Tuberville – currently at Cincinnati – and Kliff Kingsbury.
Â
The Red Raiders went to a bowl game in seven of nine seasons with Kilmer on the staff, as he is no stranger to postseason success. During his time with the program, he coached the quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs. Besides working under the three Texas Tech head coaches, Kilmer worked alongside Lincoln Riley (currently Offensive Coordinator at Oklahoma), Neal Brown (currently Head Coach at Troy) and most recently, Jinks.
Â
Kilmer was responsible for film breakdown and game planning in 2015 as Offensive Quality Control at Texas Tech. On game day, he charted the defense and also helped organize recruiting visits for the Red Raiders. He has also served as the Kliff Kingsbury Football Summer Camps Director, responsible for all aspects of the camp.
Â
Kilmer, a native of Slaton, Texas, is married to his wife Jaryn. The couple was married in March of 2014 and have a daughter named Collier.
