Jim Elsasser began his career in 1995 with BGSU Athletics. He currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs and is responsible for the overall administration of three sports (ice hockey and men's and women's golf) as well as the administration of the athletic equipment room, athletic grounds maintenance, and the Stroh Center. In addition, Elsasser manages the department's $20 million enterprise with leadership of the Athletic Business Office and all financial matters.
Elsasser also is responsible for the scheduling and operations of all athletic facilities, including all capital projects within athletics and manages all aspects of BGSU game operations. Among many athletic construction projects, Elsasser was integral in the construction process for the $30 million Stroh Center (2011) and the $12 million Sebo Athletic Center (2007).
In addition, Elsasser serves as the athletic liaison to numerous campus constituent groups including Dining Services, Capital Planning, Design and Construction, Facility Services, Risk Management, and Parking and Traffic.
Elsasser was named the winner of the 2012 Ferrari Award, which is the highest honor given to an Administrative Staff member at the University recognized for innovation, initiative, performance, and relationship with the University Community.
The Elyria, Ohio native received his bachelor's degree in sport management from Bowling Green in 1991 and a master's degree in sport administration from BGSU in 1993.
Jim and his wife, Sara, have two children, Rebecca (1997) and Isaac (2000), and reside in Bowling Green.
