Falcons Wrap Up Weekend at Fall MAC Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University tennis team concluded play in the three-day Fall Mid-American Conference Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 12). The tournament, hosted by Western Michigan University, was held at Sorenson Courts. Final Brackets (11 pages) in PDF Format BGSU saw three singles competitors reach the championship match of their respective flights on the weekend. All three, however, lost to WMU players in the finals. Sophomore Christine Chiricosta lost to Western's Kersten Pahl in the finals at the number-one flight. Pahl is the the defending MAC Player of the Year. WMU's Ashley Moccia downed junior Katia Babina in the flight-four final, while the Broncos' Jenny Nalepa defeated senior Stefanie Menoff in the championship at the sixth flight. Western Michigan had a solid weekend, winning six of the seven singles championships and two of the three doubles titles. The event featured all nine teams that sponsor MAC women's tennis. BGSU's final event of the fall schedule will be in a week-and-a-half. Selected members of the Falcon team will travel to East Lansing, Mich., to take part in the ITA Midwest Regional from Oct. 23-28. 2008 FALL MAC INVITATIONAL DOUBLES
