NAMED 2009 TEAM CAPTAIN
2008-09: Was the team captain...while remaining a stalwart at the defensive end, became a significant contributor at the offensive end...played in all 38 games...had one assist in the first 15 games of the season and 13 points (4-9) in the final 23 games...had six assists in the first 87 games of his career before scoring his first goal against Minnesota State (Nov. 29)...he led he team with three points (0-3) in the Ferris State series...had his first two-point game (in 104 career games) against Ferris State (Feb. 14) with two assists and came back one week later with his second two-point game against Michigan State (1-1)...had his first game-winnning goal when his tally against Lake Superior (Jan. 23) turned out to be the decisive score...played on both the penalty-killing and power play units...had four (1-3) points on the power play unit...had at least one point in nine of the last 12 weekends of the season...was even or better in 21 games with a best of +3 in the Ferris State (Feb. 14) game in which he had two assists...led the team with 68 blocked shots...played the last month of the season with a painful left (??) wrist injury...had career highs in all three offfensive categories (goals, assists, points)... earned the Jim Ruehl Award as the Falcons’ top defensive player...also earned the Jack Gregory Scholar-Athlete Award and the Dr. Ron Zwierlein Leadership Award.
2007-08: Named to the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Team...was a candidate for the CCHA's Best Defensive Defenseman...played in 35 games, finishing with a minus-4 rating...Had 25 recorded blocked shots and had a plus or even rating in 23 of 35 games...had two performances with a plus-2 or better.
2006-07: Named to the Honorable Mention All-CCHA Rookie Team after playing in 37 games, recording five points (0g, 5a)...recorded his first career point with an assist in a 4-2 win at Providence...also had helpers versus Miami (Oct. 27), Minnesota-Duluth (Dec. 30), Western Michigan (Jan. 5) and Michigan State (Feb. 23)...the Falcons were 3-2-0 in games where he scored a point...was minus-7 on the year, third best on the team among players that played in at least 20 games...had four plus-2 or better performances...earned the Jim Ruehl Award for the Falcons[apos] as the top defensive player.
Pre-College: Recorded eight points (2g, 6a) in 58 games for the Indiana Ice of the USHL in the 2005-06 season...helped lead his team to the Michigan Midget State Championship in 04-05 (Victory Honda).
