Three Falcons Awarded WCHA Player of the Week Honors after GLI Title

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After an action packed week, three players from the Bowling Green hockey program have been recognized with WCHA Weekly Awards as sophomore forward Lukas Craggs was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore defenseman Alec Rauhauser was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week and freshman goaltender Eric Dop was awarded WCHA Rookie of the Week.
Highlighting the Great Lakes Invitational was forward Lukas Craggs, as he tallied a tournament-leading five points through two games played, earning him a spot on the All-Tournament Team and GLI MVP accolades. In a career-best performance, the Elmhurst, Ill. native notched a three-point night against Michigan in the semifinals by two goals and one assist, helping the Falcons to its first victory in a Great Lakes Invitational and advancement to the championship matchup. In the 6-4 win, Craggs also tallied five shots on goal and a plus-2 rating on the ice, before the team faced off against WCHA foe Michigan Tech in the GLI Championship. By assisting on freshman Connor Ford's game-winning goal that broke a 1-1 stalemate, and on junior John Schilling's sneaky play that put the Falcons up 3-1, Craggs was critical in keeping the Falcons momentum up for the 4-1 victory. In Bowling Green's first GLI championship in program history, Craggs tallied two assists, one shot on goal and a plus-2 rating on the ice, for a weekly total of two goals and three assists for five points, six shots on goal and a plus-4. It is Craggs' first WCHA weekly award of his career.
After his performances in the week's three games, defenseman Alec Rauhauser is on a career-best four-game point streak. Earning a spot on the Great Lakes Invitational All-Tournament Team, Rauhauser tallied three assists through two games played after a multi-point night in the 6-4 win over Michigan led the team to the GLI Championship. After helping the Falcons get on the board by assisting on Tyler Spezia's game-opening goal, Rauhauser was there to feed the puck to freshman Max Johnson for the game-winning goal, as the Falcons were able to advance to its first GLI Championship. Against WCHA foe Michigan Tech, Rauhauser was there to assist Brett D'Andrea and get the Falcons on the board nearing the end of the first period, helping the Falcons to its first GLI title in program history. After leading the Falcons on the penalty by killing all four against the Wolverines, Rauhauser and the defensive squad also went 3-for-4 on the penalty kill against the Huskies in the championship. Earlier this week, the defenseman also got the Falcons on the board with a power play goal against No. 12 Western Michigan just 1:09 into the second period, helping extend his point-streak, while on the week, Rauhauser tallied four points by one goal and three assists, in addition to seven shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-4 rating on the ice. Rauhauser now sits seventh in the nation and first in the WCHA with 20 points through 22 games played for 0.91 points per game by a defenseman. The award is Rauhauser's second Defensive Player of the Week award this season.

A native of Lewis Center, Ohio, Dop withstood 30 shots on goal by WCHA foe Michigan Tech, posting 29 saves and just one power play goal against, helping lift the Falcons to the 4-1 victory. For his performance in the Falcons first GLI title win in program history, Dop was awarded All-Tournament Team accolades, where he stopped a game-high of 12 saves in the opening period of play, while his 29 saves was just one shy of his career-best marker. Earlier this week, Dop also came in for 45:52 of action against No. 12 Western Michigan, where he posted 14 saves and just one goal against. The goaltender tallied a game-high of nine shots on goal in the third period, after coming in near the end of the opening period of play. In between the pipes this week, Dop tallied 43 saves and two goals against in 105:52 minutes of action. It is Dop's fourth Rookie of the Week award this season.
