
BGSU Announces Promotions For Saturday's Football Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU Department of Athletics has announced its promotions ahead of Saturday's (Sept. 30) Military Appreciation football game versus Akron at 6 p.m. at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Below is a breakdown of the giveaways, events and activities that will take place throughout the game.
MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY!
* The team will wear commemorative helmets. The helmet will recognize the 111 BGSU students that passed away while defending our country. Read more about the helmets, which were named the "most patriotic" in the country, HERE.
* All veterans and active service members receive one free ticket.
* In addition, discounted tickets for families can be purchased at the pre-game tailgate in the Falcon Tailgate Park.
* One BGSU student veteran will have the chance to kick a 25-yard field goal for $1,000.
PRE-GAME MILITARY APPRECIATION EVENTS
* There will be a pre-game service song for the Veterans and Active Service members. Both groups are invited into the north end zone for this service.
* A pre-game flyover will take place from the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard based out of Toledo.
* The pre-game coin toss will be administered by honorary captain, Col. Kevin Doyle, commanding officer of the 180th.
EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS
* Any educator with a school ID can receive a discounted ticket for the game.
* BG City Schools will be recognized during the second quarter.
RESIDENCE LIFE CHALLENGE
* Throughout the school year, residence halls will be competing against each other by attending BGSU athletic events.
* This semester-long challenge will award $2,500 to the winner.
* Below is the entire schedule for the rest of the athletics calendar.
FRATERNITY & SORORITY LIFE CHALLENGE
* Much like the Residence Life Challenge, BGSU fraternity and sororities will be competing against each other to see which group can attend the most BGSU athletic events.
* This year-long challenge will award $5,000 to the winner.

STUDENT PROMOTIONS FOR THE GAME
* Ziggy Point Event.
* First 100 students receive a Falcon Flight Line t-shirt, and get to make up the fan tunnel.
* First 500 students receive a "Get Your Orange On" bracelet
* One BGSU student will be selected to try and complete a punt-pass-kick challenge for $5,000.
* One BGSU student will be picked to compete in the $25 Kroger gift card trivia challenge.
STUDENT TAILGATE
* A pre-game tailgate for students will take place behind the west ticket booths.
* Free food will be given to the first 200 students.
FALCON MARCHING BAND
* The team walk will begin at approximately 3:35 p.m., with the preflight with the Falcon Marching Band taking place at 5 p.m. in the south side of the stadium.
* The halftime show will be "Video Games Live," as performed by the Falcon Marching Band.
* The FMB will be playing the themes of Halo, MegaMan, Mario, and Final Fantasy.
FALCON CLUB
* Be sure to take part in the Falcon Club 50-50 giveaway.
