Five Falcons Honored with Academic All-MAC Awards

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After a successful 2016-17 campaign, the Bowling Green women's golf program had five student-athletes named to Academic All-MAC honors. The Falcons five awards was the most of any team in the Mid-American Conference.
Among the honorees are sophomores Julia Durkin, Erin Fahey and Sarah Kern, junior Madelynn Swank and senior Fran Rodriguez.
A native of Miramar, Fla., Durkin holds a 3.418 GPA in Construction Management and Technology, while Austin, Texas native Fahey marks a 3.928 GPA majoring in Finance. Springboro, Ohio native Kern holds a 3.894 GPA with a major in Intervention Specialist, and Clarendon Hills, Ill. native Swank marks a GPA of 3.616 in Supply Chain Management. Leading the Falcons with a 3.934 GPA in Sports Management is Rodriguez, earning her third consecutive Academic All-MAC honor.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
