2018 Baseball Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball program and head coach Danny Schmitz announced its 2018 schedule on Monday (Dec. 4) afternoon. The schedule includes 17 games at Steller Field, including 12 home Mid-American Conference ballgames.
"We are extremely excited about our 2018 schedule," commented Schmitz. "Our non-conference schedule will prepare us for the conference season, and it will also be great to open our conference slate up with consecutive home series at Steller Field. The season is just around the corner, and our guys have been working very hard to make this season memorable."
Bowling Green opens the season with a three-game set at Alabama Birmingham (Feb. 16-18). Following the opening weekend, the Falcons will then travel to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for four games over Feb. 23-25 with Southeast Missouri State. Bowling Green will wrap up the month February with a Feb. 28 game at Eastern Kentucky.
The Falcons open March with a game at North Carolina State on March 2. The very next day, BGSU will play a double header versus Canisius College in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Bowling Green will then battle Campbell on March 4, also in Buies Creek. BGSU concludes its spring trip with a single game at Evansville (March 7) and a three-game series at Western Kentucky (March 9-11).
Bowling Green's home opener will take place on March 13 versus Fort Wayne. The Falcons will then play a three-game series in Ann Arbor versus the Michigan Wolverines across March 16-18. On March 21, a game at Dayton will be the final contest before conference play begins.
The Falcons will host Ohio (March 23-25) and Eastern Michigan (March 30 – April 1) to begin MAC play, with an away game at Fort Wayne (March 28) in between. Over the next two weekends, the Falcons play consecutive road series at Miami (April 6-8) and at Western Michigan (April 13-15), with mid-week non-conference games taking place at Kent State (April 3) and versus Youngstown State (April 10).
A home non-conference game versus Kent State (April 17) begins the following week, with a home series versus Ball State (April 20-22) to wrap up the week. Bowling Green will wrap up its home-and-home series with Youngstown State (April 24) after that, before back-to-back road series against Central Michigan (April 27-29) and Kent State (May 4-6).
BGSU welcomes Dayton (May 8) to Steller Fielder before hosting its final home conference series over the weekend versus Northern Illinois (May 11-13). The Falcons' final home game will take place on May 15 versus Wright State.
The Falcons conclude the regular season and conference slate with a Battle of I-75 series at Toledo over May 17-19. The MAC Tournament in Avon, Ohio is set to take place over May 23-27.
