Kevin Farrell Named Men’s And Women’s Golf Coach At Mount St. Mary’s
November 09, 2017 | Men's Golf
Emmitsburg, Md. – Mount St. Mary's has named Bowling Green State University men's golf coach Kevin Farrell as its head men's and women's golf coach.
Farrell will return to his alma mater to hold the same position he held from 2009-12. In September, Mount St. Mary's Director of Athletics Lynne Robinson announced the reinstatement of the men's and women's golf programs, with competition set to begin in the fall of 2018.
"I want to thank Coach Farrell for his five years of service to BGSU and we wish him the very best at his alma mater," BGSU Director of Athletics Bob Moosbrugger said. "The opportunity to return home and restart the men's and women's golf programs was one he could not pass up."
During his five years at Bowling Green State University, Farrell coach five All-MAC performers, one MAC Freshman of the Year and nine MAC Golfers of the Week. During the 2015-16 season, the program posted the lowest 18-hole score in history and the second-lowest 54-hole team score.
"I can't thank BGSU enough for all they've done for me," Farrell said. "This was a very tough decision. I know what I have learned here will only help me succeed at Mount St. Mary's."
BGSU will launch a search for Farrell's replacement immediately.
