Falcon Stat Facts
- The pair of power play goals marked junior John Schilling's first career multi-goal game, and stood as his third multi-point performance of his career. The game-winning goal was also the second of the Oswego, Ill. native's time with the Bowling Green program.
- Schilling received help from four different players on his pair of goals, including freshmen Connor Ford and Brandon Kruse on the game-tying goal, and senior Brett D'Andrea and sophomore Alec Rauhauser on the game-winner.
- A native of Bismarck, N.D., Rauhauser now leads the team with five assists through eight games played, and tallies six total points thus far, second most of the Bowling Green squad.
- Between the pipes, freshman goaltender Eric Dop tallied 21 saves, including a game-high of nine in the third period. In his debut season, Dop is off to a 3-1-0 record.
- The Falcons earned 10 of their 28 shots on goal on the power play, including a game-high of 12 shots on goal in the second period. As Bowling Green accrued its 12 shots on goal in the second stanza, they were also able to hold Michigan Tech to a game-low of just four in the middle 20:00 of action. Ultimately, the Falcons outshot the Huskies 28-22 on the night.
- Defensively, junior Adam Smith marked a career-high of five blocked shots, in addition to earning one shot on goal.
- Bowling Green went 5-for-6 on the penalty kill, only allowing Michigan Tech's lone goal on its first man advantage of the night. The Falcons also burned a significant 5-on-3 penalty kill to keep the game at 2-1 in their favor.
- Offensively, junior Stephen Baylis led the Bowling Green squad with Schilling, each tallying four shots on goal apiece.
- The Bowling Green victory marked the Falcons first win over Michigan Tech since Nov. 14, 2015, a 3-2 road win.
Coach Bergeron's Take
- "We got ourselves in some trouble on the penalty kill early in the first period, and they scored on their first power play, but I think our penalty kill settled in after that. We then earned some chances on the power play and we went 2-for-4 after that, so the game was definitely influenced by the special teams. I thought we competed hard in 5-on-5 play, but the special teams was the difference."
- "In net, Dop looked confident and seemed to settle into his game. As for John Schilling, he has earned his way onto the power play and he wants to be involved offensively. The way our team is set up is that we need guys to step up, and it's nice to see him do that and to be rewarded."
